Hi,

I can't find much assistance on PMR radios across the net, so thought I would try here.

I have recently installed an autocom unit with a midland g7 on my motorbike along with a few other friends.

Both the autocom and the radio are wired into a switched supply on the bike and work fine without the engine running, however I am getting a lot of interferance from the radio when the engine is running.

Wikipedia suggests its ground loop issues.

If it is, then I am thinking a ferrite core around the g7's power supply?

Any ideas if this is the right direction to go, or what size ferrite core to use?

Thanks in advance.

This forum seems a bit quiet. You are the first poster of the year Sad

I've just had a quick google on 'autocom' and 'midland g7' without any quote marks and had quite a few hits. I guess that will be the place to start, alas Sad

And it seems I've just joined this 'dead' forum too Sad
