I am looking to be able to do aprs with my tyt 9800 and my kenwood 707 a. I would also like to have an aprs gate in my house. How would I do this?

One of the nicest options to setup a APRS gate at the house is to use a Raspberry Pi with a TNC-Pi add-on.. I have not tried the TNC-X yet but I am sure that would also suffice. The TNC-Pi comes in a kit form or already put together. The website is: https://tnc-x.com/TNCPi.htm

But to interface this with the TYT-9800 I don't think that radio is digital capable. There might be some hacks that will allow it.

As for the Kenwood 707 there should be a 6-pin mini DIN connector for 1200/9600bps packet.
The front panel has a connector for hooking up to a TNC, enabling either standard 1200bps or 9600bps high-speed packet communications. This same connector is also used for PC programming of the transceiver.

Good luck!
